Dock of the caravels of Columbus in La Rápida - Huelva
Orginal reproduction of the 3 ships Santa Maria, Ninja and Pinta with those Columbus undertook his first trip in the new world and the discovery of America in the year 1492.

Santa Maria was the main ship of Christoph Kolumbus of the first expedition on which he wanted to find a western sea way to India. With both clearly smaller consort ships "Niña" and "Pinta" and their captains, the brothers Pinzón from Palos, they started on the 3rd of August, 1492 in Palos de la Frontera on the way to the direction of the Canary islands to take up fresh provisions - up to the arrival in "west of India" another 2.5 months should pass, till on the 12th of October, 1492, finally, a long desired exclamation sounded
"country in sight".

In the museum are found orginale navigation systems of that time and also beside old sea maps and old maps of the world - by the available logbooks are all trips described in detail and you becomes many exactly informations about the routes, crew members and the arrival dates of the discovered countries.
